It’s cold, sunny, and feels like January with big piles of snow. Can you believe that St. Patty’s day is tomorrow? If you stop by The Livery they will set you straight with corned beef and cabbage, Reuben Sandwiches, and different stouts. If that weren’t enough, the band Soltre will be playing Traditional Irish music for your entertainment.
Tomorrow, the fun continues at Tapistry with corned beef, cabbage, and red potatoes plus, if you wear green, you’ll get a discount on pints, I think. You know, if you just stop by you can confirm the discount and still have a great time.
I’m so tired of the snow and cold! I’m holding out for spring by staying indoors and taking comfort from a red pale ale at Greenbush called “Postcards from Dongala. Might as well have a Reuben Sandwich while I’m here as they’ll be gone by next Tuesday.
Greenbush has added another set of tap handles behind the bar.

Lab beer at Greenbush “Strawberry Habenero Wheat”. The strawberry stands out from the heat, which surprised,me.
Winter is really starting to get on my nerves! Not only did we get several inches of wet snow making the roads very slick, but when I got home last night I proceeded to get my car stuck in one of drifts in my drive way. Well, thinking that I could, I waited until this morning to dig it out only to find that the car tires were stuck in the frozen mush so that they wouldn’t spin, much less move the car. A little help from my neighbor, though, and I’m now out and about.
Btw, it’s growler Thursday at Tapistry for mug club members. I’ve got my stainless steel growler all ready to fill with either “Rye as a Kite” or “Bad Moon Horizon”. A decision that I don’t mind being stuck on for a while.
I spoke to Chris at Greenbush, yesterday, about my small batch beer. He said that it’s done fermenting and was ready for an addition of cocoa powder. Unfortunately, I left before he did that so I don’t know how it went. I’ll find out a little later today.
If you are going out to your favorite brew pub, today, then please be aware of the icy roads and drive appropriately. Ok, enough of that crap! If you don’t know what to do, then you shouldn’t be on the roads in the first place! Now leave me be to enjoy a “Rye as a Kite” at Tapistry!
Greenbush has put up a new beer, at least to me, a red pale ale called “Postcards From Dongola”.
Don’t get used to this all-too-short spring, ’cause winter is coming tonight. I’m preparing by making my rounds, starting with a Hoponacci at Tapistry. Then, I’ll head over to Greenbush, surprisingly, and will have something from the Group A menu. Maybe I’ll see you there, or better yet, come on over to Tapistry right now to keep Olivia company and enjoy some really good beer on Mug Club Tuesday.
