The start of Memorial Day weekend is a little cool, but it’s sunny and nice never-the-less. This has been a week of eating crap food for lunch, which I’m getting very tired of doing. Of course, there was the wonderful lunch I had at Tapistry on Monday.
It’s going to be a good weekend to catch up on some of my yard work, too, I even have a 15 pack of Founders’ “All Day IPA” to enhance the mowing. I hope that’s enough beer. I can always supplement it with a trip to Greenbush and/or Tapistry, so no worries on my part.
I did find out about Josh’s condition, yesterday. He’s conscious and still in intensive care, so an improvement. I imagine he’ll be even more improved today, I’ll let you know.
A fantastic lunch at La Perla needs to be followed up with a fantastic beer at Tapistry. I know, I could have gone to The Livery, but with the senior PGA going on I didn’t want to deal with the traffic. Poor excuse, but I’m sticking with it.
Today is Mike’s last day at Tapistry, so, if you have the time, why not come on by and wish him good luck at his future job at Odd Side.
No word on Josh’s condition, I may find out something when I go to Greenbush later today.
There’s the new assistant brewer, Phil, at Tapistry who I met, officially, yesterday. Tapistry also has a two new beers waiting to be put on tap, both of which I don’t know what style they are, and I don’t know much more than that. More information later.
A sad note to this otherwise uplifting blog: Joshua, who works at Greenbush, is now in the ICU in an induced coma. It seems that he was working late into the night last night, when he was discovered unconscious. Don’t know much else. I’m just hoping that it will be all right int the end. More information coming as soon as I hear something. Don’t know what else to say.
Come on by Tapistry, Kendall needs some customers to fill her day. Don’t worry about it, the beer and sandwiches are very good, they even have a very nice beer garden where you can sit in the sun, drink beer, and play bags. And, it’s mug club Tuesday, so no excuses, just come on by!
Got a glimpse of one of the new assistant brewers/cellar men at Tapistry. Something about him being from Brazil and he went to the same school as someone else. Hopefully, this will not only be a needed change, as Mike is moving on to Odd Side, but an improvement on an all ready great brewery.
Don’t forget that The Livery is giving away pairs of tickets to the Senior PGA on this week.
The Livery is giving away 4 pairs of tickets to the Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor. The email was sent this morning with the details:
“Interested in going to the tournament? We’ll be giving away 4 pairs of tickets (good for any one day) to the first 4 customers joining us for lunch from Tuesday – Friday. The Livery has extended hours and will be open for lunch at 11:30 starting Tuesday (5/20) through Monday (Memorial Day). Not only will the Cafe menu be available but also goodies from the grill. A great lunch + free tickets?…yes…do it.”
The sun wants to come out, so did I. The only difference being that I made it out, the sun is still struggling. If you make it out, just be aware that Michigan’s finest is out and looking for speeders.
There are plenty of seats still available at Greenbush, so don’t put it off too long or you’re in for a long wait. Of course, there’s always Tapistry or The Livery. What the heck!? Just go to all of them!
The sun is out and it’s not snowing, so it’s time to go to your favorite brew-pub. If your an ipa fan, Greenbush has their “StarChicken Shotgun” on tap right now, that’s what I’m having right now.
Tapistry has two new beers on tap, a Kolsch and a Belgian Tripel, whichi I’m sure you’re aware of if you do indeed read my posts. A bonus is that Olivia will be there all day to server your favorite brews and sandwiches.
I haven’t been to The Livery in a while, gotta get there soon to update you on what’s happening there.
Round Barn’s Public House has some building expansion going on, it seems that they are enclosing their beer garden.
Can you believe that the first day of summer is only five weeks away? Neither can I.
During my travels this morning I stopped at Martin’s where I found a 15 pack of “All Day IPA” on sale for $16.49, which made it a no-brainer purchase. Good thing, too, as my brain has all but shriveled.
Tapistry just released its Belgian Tripel called “Eilmer”, made with ginger and Sorachiace (or do you say Sorachi) hops and then it spent some time in a used gin barrel from Journeyman Distillers which clocks in at 8.2% abv. I had a taste of it yesterday and I won’t try to describe it because I don’t know enough of what I’m talking about. I will tell you that I don’t normally like Belgians, but this one seemed to have a “cleaner” taste to with the ginger balancing the malt to something I would find more pleasing to my crude palate. Come on by and try it for yourself!
