Monthly Archives: December 2014
I can’t help myself! I can’t stop! So, that’s why it will continue…
Day 11 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: Owls in the Roadhouse a raspberry Porter, one that I happen to like very much.
I made it down to Michigan City, IN to get me some Burn ‘Em beer in cans. Four 4-packs is what I ended up bring back home:
No comments on the fact that I’m now over 714 days; I must be a glutton for punishment!
Day 10 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: PHD which, I think, is a malt liquor.
Day 9 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: Barrel-Aged X-Terminator an American Pale Ale aged in whiskey barrels. Not even half way through and it’s still amazing!
Thanks to my niece I now have nine bottle 3 Floyds‘ beer. Let’s see, there’s Zombie Dust a hoppy Pale Ale, Robert the Bruce a Scottish Style Ale, and Yum Yum an American Session Ale. A BIG THANKS to Shawna! I know I’m going to enjoy these very much.
A day that lived in infamy, and I’m not talking about those who stumbled home from a Christmas party last night (Like Greenbush’s Christmas Party). I’m referring to December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor to bring the US into WWII. It was 73 years ago, but still lives in the memories of many, so I would like to offer my appreciation to those who were serving not only that day, and throughout that “Great War”.
Day 7 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: Mammoth a winter Weizenbock.
Day 6 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: One and the Same an ale brewed with raspberries. How refreshing!
Don’t forget that Greenbush’s Christmas Party starts tonight at 6:00pm, (at 5:00pm for mug-clubbers). Debbie and I are going to be there and we hope to see you, too!
Speaking of parties; The Livery is having their winter party today that they are calling December Darkness. It goes from the time they’re open, which is 11:30am, until they close, and features a bottle release and a bunch of barrel-aged beers on tap. Debbie and I will be there early this afternoon.
It’s starting to look like a very busy day.
There’s a chili cook-off in Bridgman this afternoon, for which I really don’t have any links and few details, but I do believe Tapistry is involve in some way or the other. Even if they’re not, you should come down and try a glass of Cryil Figgis, or Batch 100 while sampling chilis at a tent near Eric’s & the railroad tracks.
Day 5 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: Barrel-Aged Dystopia a Russian Imperial Stout aged in whiskey barrels and only 9.5% abv. Life is Good!
Day 4 of the Greenbush Advent Calendar brings us: Sotto Voce an ale brewed with orange juice and spices. Can’t wait until tomorrow!
Tapistry has Chocola Java back on tap, their double chocolate oatmeal coffee stout which, I’m sure, will please Spence, and others. Also, they will be releasing their 7.3% winter warmer made with figs and Scottish oats called…Cyril Figgus. What else would they call it? It will be available in 750ml bottles and on tap starting Friday.
Tuesday brings mug-club specials at Tapistry and The Livery.
Must have had my head in a very dark place as I forgot that the first day of Advent was yesterday. So, with no further ado, here are yesterday’s and today’s advent beers.
